P/Starling Sailors Camp Information and Sign Up
If you want to skip straight to the sign up form, scroll down.
With the Starling nationals for 2020 being postponed to the new dates of 27th - 30th September 2020, perhaps you or your sailor are wanting to stay up skilled during the winter months?
Or are you a P sailor, wanting to get ahead of the game?
BUT, do you want that little bit more than the standard coaching clinic?
If so, then this is the camp you need to attend!
The basic details:
Date: 8th - 10th July (Weds-Fri first week of school holidays)
Location: Torbay Sailing Club
Times: Drop off from 7.30am. Pick up, up to 8.30pm. Sailors from further away have the option to be billeted by Torbay families, and thus dropped on Wednesday morning, and picked up Friday evening.
Cost: $285 for the three days,
or $95 per day if you can't commit to all three days. This cost INCLUDES food.
What does the cost cover?
The cost covers
- 3 full days of high level holistic coaching, led by previous national champion Gareth Moore.
- dinner for Wednesday and Thursday evenings, breakfast and lunch for Thursday and Friday
- for sailors that wish not to travel each day, you can be billeted with a Torbay family for one or both nights of the camp (parents then you don't have to travel across town for 3 days in a row in traffic!)
- guaranteed learning, fun and friendships
- guest speakers/coaches to be advised
The Programme
The programme is very much dependent on the weather. However the purpose of the camp is to incorporate more than just the standard training clinic. Guest speakers will be involved, and sailors will take part in cooking challenges, and more. Sailors will need their standard gear bag contents: sailing gear, boats, fitness gear including suitable running shoes, a change of clothes, and a notebook.
How many will be there?
Spaces are limited to 16 sailors. This is to ensure that those who register and sign up first, get maximum benefit from the camp. There is a minimum number of 5 sailors in order for the camp to go ahead. If this has not been reached by the 1st of July, Moore Coaching Services NZ reserves the right to postpone or cancel the camp and a full refund given.
If the cost of this camp is prohibitive of you or your sailor attending, then please mention it in the comments on the sign up form, and I will call you to discuss.
